Access

The production ring is live and runs Magic Unicorn's own books daily; external seats are a guided preview for now. An open-source AGPL Community Edition (single-workspace, self-hosted, bring your own models) is coming.

Operating boundary: Magic Unicorn is software, not a CPA firm. You (or your CPA, if you want one) review and approve before anything files. You stay the signer.

The work

What it does

  1. Pulls in your bank feeds, Stripe, eBay, and emailed receipts, categorizes every transaction, and links receipts to the entries they belong to.
  2. Posts to an append-only, hash-chained journal, then produces your P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, trial balance, 1099-NEC data, and period close.
  3. Runs Sentinel agents on your live books: subscription detection, runway and cash-position tracking, and a review queue for anything worth a human look.

The workflow

How it works

  1. 01

    Sign in once. Your workspace, entity, chart of accounts, and bank connection are provisioned in a single pass.

  2. 02

    Accounting-Ops categorizes, reconciles, and posts to the hash-chained journal, flagging exceptions to an approval queue you can review or bulk-approve.

  3. 03

    Pull finished statements, 1099 data, and close packets, or hand the CPA export to your accountant if you keep one.
